Boat Information

Optimist

Optimists are an eight foot, single-handed dinghy designed specifically for junior sailors. It has become the international standard in junior instruction due to its stability and safety. Optimists are easy to transport and a great first boat for junior sailors.
Club 420

The Club 420 is the most popular and versatile double-handed junior boat in North America. The boat is designed for sailors above 100 pounds. The boat has a main sail, jib and spinnaker. Junior, high school, and collegiate sailing programs use the 420 as the basis for their programs.
Laser

The Laser is an Olympic class boat that sailed by juniors and adults. The Laser is a great option for single-handed sailors who are too big or too old to race an Optimist.

Lasers offer three different sail plans, so you can use the sail that is appropriate for your weight or the weather. The Laser Radial is great for lighter sailors who do not want a full rig. We typically have more Laser Radials than full rigs in our classes.
