6-7 years old
Session: 1 Week
Prerequisites: Pass a float test

Sea Squirts is a fun introduction to sailing and boats. No experience is needed. This fun class exposes young children to boats, sailing, and TAYC. The children will participate in a variety of activities to help them become comfortable in and around boats. They will be introduced to parts of a boat, sailing vocabulary, boating safety, rigging, and knot tying. They will take part in rigging, sailing games, arts & crafts, towing, boat rides, sailing with a buddy, bay cruises, motorboat rides, and having fun!  The staple of this class will be 3 sailors in a 420 with an instructor, taking turns at the helm and sail controls.  Of course, there will be lots of swimming and fun.  Choose morning or afternoon class, not both please. (Session cost includes completion medal and tee shirt)

The instructors will be on hand at the event to coach our newest racers.  Racing in the event will not be mandatory. Students in this class that are interested in competing should also sign up for Opti Green Fleet Racing (see below).  Some 420 and adventure sailing components will be introduced to these sailors as well.
